Stay in a Piece of History

Inase (ee-nah-se) is a small yet uniquely special inn, as its building is a registered Tangible Cultural Property.

On the historic road to Imperial Kyoto, Otsu-juku was that last lodging town just before Kyoto. At one corner of the town stood a local rice seller’s shop and residence.

As this building slowly deteriorated over time, demolition was eventually planned. However, it was instead transformed into a lodging facility to preserve the beauty and history of this structure for a new generation.

Step inside and you’ll be welcomed by warm scent of wood, and a rich atmosphere to enjoy your stay at our inn. As you relax, you may even drift back in time to the old era!
